The Ancient Barn

This medieval barn was almost
certainly built in the 1300s. By the 1970s it had been converted into a
milking parlour and then it became derelict. In 1995 it was
converted to provide a very comfortable, unusual
and very special holiday home. It has a VisitBritain four
star
rating. |

Every care has been taken to preserve
its original features. There is a lofty living/dining/kitchen area with
a wealth of old beams, a flagstone floor (with under floor heating) and
double doors leading to a small paved patio. |

Upstairs there is a heavily beamed
bedroom with two single beds + folding guest bed. Downstairs there is a double bedroom
with a magnificent king-sized antique brass bed, and the bathroom is next door.
Please note - the bathroom was refurbished in 2008 and has a cubicle shower - not a tub as shown on the plan below. |
